In recent years, drug abuse has grown into a critical global health issue, with an alarming rise in cases, particularly among youth. What once was an isolated problem has now permeated societies to the extent that drug abuse is increasingly viewed as a norm rather than an exception. Nigeria, in particular, is grappling with a significant drug abuse crisis. According to the National Drug Use Survey of 2018, over 14.3 million Nigerians, or 14.4% of the population aged 15-64, reported using drugs outside of medical prescriptions. This is almost three times the global average of 5.6%.

At A Touch of MAF, we recognize the urgent need to combat this growing crisis through awareness and intervention. Our Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and provide much-needed support to those affected. The campaign will focus on educating communities, especially youth, about the physical, mental, and social impacts of drug abuse through workshops, school outreach programs, and digital campaigns.

We will also provide access to counseling and rehabilitation services, creating a safe space where individuals can seek help without stigma or judgment. In collaboration with healthcare professionals, mental health experts, and social workers, we aim to offer a holistic approach that addresses both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction. By fostering open conversations and community support, A Touch of MAF is committed to reversing the normalization of drug abuse and helping individuals reclaim their lives.
